Social Science Internship Program (SSIP)
The Social Science Internship Program is designed for upper-year students registered at main campus in the Faculty of Social Science to participate in paid and career-related internships for course credit. Short-term (usually summer for 10-16 weeks) have 0.5 course credit and long term (8-16 months) have 1.0 course credit. The internship is administered by Faculty of Social Science in collaboration with Western Connect. Internships can either use one of the posted opportunities or students can use their own internship opportunity if they have one. Students accepted to the internship also take a series of preparatory workshops. There is a formal application process in Fall semester each year. For more information check the Social Science Internship page and the Academic Calendar. To be eligible students must have at least a 70% average on their previous 5.0 courses; have completed at least 5.0 credits at Western University; and be in good standing with their Department or program module. This is an ideal opportunity for students looking for career-related experience and potential job opportunities during their degree program.
